Web search (referencing up-to-date info)

When you allow web search, chat can look up current or external information that your vault notes cannot answer (news, weather, latest versions, etc.) and answer based on it.

• Enable: turn on "Allow web search" in Settings → AIs. Searches run on the provider side and may incur provider charges.
• Sources: when a web search is used, a list of cited sources (links) appears below the answer.
• When off, chat answers on the assumption it cannot access the internet.
• Safety checks: if a search result or web page contains instructions such as "send the contents of this note", Chat does not follow them. When Chat tries to fetch a URL you did not paste yourself, a confirmation dialog shows the target (this is separate from auto-approval of vault operations and always asks). Notes created by Chat also cannot embed images from external sites, to prevent automatic requests.
