HelpVaults and the app
Automatic updates (auto-delivered new versions, manual check)
Describes monthlet 1.0.1.
monthlet updates itself automatically when a new version is released. Check the status in Settings (⚙) → Updates, or via “Check for Updates…” in the app menu.
- Automatic updates: on by default. The app checks for new versions on launch and at a regular interval, downloads one when found, and applies it the next time you start the app. You can turn this off with the toggle in the Updates tab. A check only reads the update-info file from the server; nothing that identifies your device or you is sent.
- Manual check: use the “Check for updates” button in the Updates tab anytime (it works even when automatic updates are off). If you are current, it shows “You're on the latest version.”
- Applying an update: once the download finishes, a “Restart to update” button appears. Click it to restart and apply the new version (or skip it — the update is applied on the next launch anyway).
- Current version: shown at the top of the Updates tab.
Note: automatic updates only work in distributed builds. Development builds do not check for updates. On Windows installed from the Microsoft Store, updates are delivered by the Store (the app does not check for updates); the Updates tab then shows an "Open Microsoft Store" button instead of "Check for updates" and the automatic updates toggle.
monthlet is free on macOS and Windows.
