HelpVaults and the app

License Agreement (EULA) and privacy

Describes monthlet 1.0.1.

On first launch, the License Agreement (EULA) is shown. Read it to the end and choose “I Agree” to start using the app. If you decline, the app quits (you cannot proceed without agreeing).

If the text of the agreement is updated, you may be asked to agree again the next time you launch the app.

  • Read it again later: open Settings (⚙) → the “Advanced” tab → “View License Agreement” to read the full text anytime.
  • How your data is handled: notes and settings are stored locally on your device (your vault) and are not sent to the developer’s servers. AI provider API keys are encrypted with the secure credential-protection facility provided by your OS (Keychain on macOS, DPAPI on Windows) and stored on this device.
  • What is sent to AI: the AI features use BYOK (your own API key). Chat and note content is sent directly to the AI provider you have an account with (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, etc.) to perform the requested operation. The receiving provider’s terms and privacy policy apply.
  • Third-party software: the app uses open source such as Electron and React. A list of the licenses is provided in THIRD_PARTY_LICENSES.md distributed with the app.

monthlet is free on macOS and Windows.
