Text color and underline (note formatting)

You can add color and underline to text in a note. In edit mode, select text, right-click, and choose "Underline" or "Text color" (Red, Orange, Green, Blue, Purple, Gray, "Other color…" for any color, or "Remove color").

Shortcuts: select text and press ⌘B (bold), ⌘I (italic), or ⌘U (underline). On Windows, use Ctrl. Press again to remove.

You can also ask in the chat, for example "make the deadline date red".

Colors are saved exactly as chosen. In dark mode they are shown with adjusted brightness so they stay readable (the saved color does not change).

When exported to Markdown, underline becomes <u> and text color becomes <span style="color:…">, so Obsidian and GitHub show them as is.
