Using chat (scopes, streaming)

Ask the AI from the chat panel on the right. There are two scopes:

• With a note open, requests generate or edit that note (e.g. "Add a table", "Make this paragraph concise").
• With no note open (vault scope), you can create new notes or run vault-wide operations and discussions.

Send with the Enter key or the ↑ send button at the bottom-right of the input (Shift+Enter inserts a line break). While generating, that button becomes a stop button — pressing it cancels the current generation and discards any queued messages.

Changes stream into the view live. If you do not like a result, Undo to revert it.

Below each AI reply, the tokens consumed for that exchange are shown in small text as "↑input ↓output" (e.g. ↑1.2k ↓567). Hover the numbers for the exact breakdown. If the AI responded multiple times via tool calls, the total for the turn is shown.

To use chat you must register a provider API key (see "Provider settings").
